The Rum Diary: Full Length Trailer

Analyis:

This trailer effectively creates intrigue for the latest Johnny Depp vehicle.  The trailer establishes an atmosphere of chaos, which will makes viewer curious enough to want to know what happens in the movie.  The trailer however, fails to give the audience a reason to latch onto Johnny Depp's character beyond the standard charm of the actor.  Basically, the trailer is saying that in this movie, Johnny Depp acts very Johnny Deppy in a different environment that Johnny Depp usually does.  The trailer does the absolute minimum job in making people wanting to see the film, resting on the lead actor's pedigree.
